PRESS RELEASE: Experience Mid Canterbury
As a result of some outstanding community partnerships, the directors of the Methven Hot Pools project, Dave Dynes, Gary Eddington and Rob Brawley, are pleased to advise that they have received resource consent for this long awaited project.
The Methven Hot Pools project will be one of the largest tourism attractions in the Mid Canterbury region, along with the Mt Hutt Ski Field.
Bruce Moffat general manager of Experience Mid Canterbury, said the hot pools project will be a game changer for tourism in the district, given the proximity of the hot pools site and the superb Mt Hutt ski field, it will help leverage more visitors into the Mid Canterbury district.
“Imagine after a full day’s skiing on Mt Hutt, or the long mountain bike ride, soaking up the relaxing vibes in the hot pools watching the sun set behind the alps – bliss,” said Moffat.
The pools will have several different spaces including a child-free adult’s area.
Rob Brawley said we’re very excited about the future of the Methven hot pools and the benefits they will bring to local community. We have to make sure we take the community with us, there’s a real opportunity for them to be involved and that’s the wider Mid Canterbury community not just Methven.
The team is now looking to the next stage of the project, raising further investment for the project and then construction.
