Find your Freedom, a new brand campaign for The Remarkables ski field in Queenstown, has been launched with their pre-season video featuring long-time Head of Ski Patrol Michel Lepage as the front man.
Ross Lawrence, Ski Area Manager of The Remarkables, says this is exactly what the ski field embodies.
“Guest feedback, as well as that from our staff, including Michel, is that they get a real sense of freedom at The Remarkables.
“In terms of on-snow experience, dropping into Homeward Run or Outward Bound, a massive combined 45-plus hectares of wide, open off-piste mountain, really delivers on that, and that’s why it’s featured in the video. Plus, the view back across Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu is pretty spectacular. You just feel like you’re on top of the world.”
“But,” says Ross, “for some people it’s the extensive park features that send you flying, or the spacious, base building with its large full-height windows, wrap-around deck, food choices and barista-style coffee. It’s all just easy.”
He says the ice Bar half way up Curvey Basin Chairlift is popular too.
“You can sink a cold one while looking out at the world and across the valley to Coronet Peak and way beyond into the Southern Alps.”
A major development at the field for 2018 in line with that Freedom concept is a bigger, better learner experience with a more gradual progression toward the novice/intermediate Alta chairlift and more space to learn.
“We want everyone to experience finding their Freedom and we understand that sometimes that takes a bit of practice!” says Ross.
The campaign is timed with the earlybird season passes promotion, ending on April 5.
The video was produced by Two Bearded Men and directed by Kelly Lovelock. As well as Michel, it features local Queenstown talent.
