The position will encourage collaboration around a strong partnership with iwi, business, education, sport and the arts, and local government.
The role is a key leadership position in the community with oversight by a board and will suit a person with highly developed skills in communication, building coalitions of support, effective advocacy and translating multiple workstreams into priorities which achieve the support of the partners.
The development of strategies that achieve long-term goals and provide for economic growth, strengthening of current industries, and support for critical sectors in an equitable way are key to the position. Preferred candidates will have open, empathetic and collaborative leadership qualities. They will be exceptional in forging partnerships, demonstrating commercial acumen and have a track record of delivering outstanding results through a positive staﬀ culture. The ability to work eﬀectively with a Board and elected members and a work history of strong team development skills will also be important competencies.
