Fifteen senior representatives from across the industry came together for the first meeting of Tourism Industry Aotearoa’s operators’ panel.
The panel, which is chaired by TIA, held its first meeting last Wednesday and would inform the Covid-19 Tourism Advisory Group (C19-TAG).
The panel would identify the issues facing the sector and directly inform the issues TIA would take to C19-TAG, which aimed to provide a regular flow of advice and information on the state of the industry to government.
The group would gather at least fortnightly, however, TIA said it was likely meetings would occur more often in the immediate future given the Government’s announcement over the weekend to impose tough new travel restrictions on arrivals to New Zealand.
The group included:
Director at Aotea NZ Richard Hanson
Group CEO at INFLITE Adam Joyce
YHA CEO Mark Wells
Canyon Swing GM Stu Cordelle
Te Puia CEO Tim Cossar
NZHOA executive director Amy Robens
NZ Cruise Association CEO Kevin O’Sullivan
NZ Holiday Parks Association CEO Fergus Brown
Hospitality NZ CEO Julie White
Totally Tourism GM Tim Barke
CINZ CEO Lisa Hopkins
RTNZ executive officer Charlie Ives
TECNZ CEO Lynda Keene
