Anna Hayward joins Tourism Talent in push into business events

Anna Hayward has joined Tourism Talent to drive the recruiter’s expansion into the business events industry.

Hayward, who led Auckland Convention Bureau for almost 14 years before departing in March 2021, has been appointed senior associate of business events at Tourism Talent.

She has also been chair of the New Zealand Convention Bureau and was the recipient of the Conventions and Incentives New Zealand’s outstanding achievement award in 2018.

“I am really excited to be joining Tourism Talent during this important period of recovery for the sector and supporting business event companies find great talent,” Hayward said.

Tourism Talent was launched in late 2018 by former Auckland tourism leader Jason Hill and Tourism Central Otago general manager Dylan Rushbrook to help businesses fill their gaps in tourism industry skills, particularly at the senior level.

“We believe the business events sector in New Zealand is about to really come of age with a number of brand new venues opening up across the country,” said Hill, managing director at Tourism Talent.

“The potential of this high value sector is yet to be fully realised and we see an opportunity to assist as the search for talent ramps up.”

Hayward started with Tourism Talent yesterday and will attend BEIA’s MEETINGS event at Te Pae Christchurch on 14-16 June.
