Programme Lead – Kiwi North NZ

30th October 2026 By Advertiser | To list a job, contact us at jobs@tourismticker.com or call 0204 101 8762

We’re on the hunt for a North Island Rock Star – is that you?

The Opportunity

Kiwi North NZ is a collective of North Island RTOs, operators and commercial partners with one shared ambition: more international visitors spending more nights in more North Island regions – measured against NZ international visitor arrivals, South Island share of guest nights and spend, and growth in regional dispersal.

The strategy is agreed. We now need one person to run it. As Programme Lead you will be the central point of coordination and delivery on behalf of the Governance Group and RTO partners – holding the plan, the calendar, the partners and the evidence base in one place, so partners deal with one coordinated collective rather than a series of separate projects.

Location: North Island, New Zealand (flexible). Hybrid (home and office-based (Tauranga) flexible – can also hot-desk at other regional tourism offices in Auckland, Rotorua and Wellington (optional).

Term: Fixed-term to June 30, 2027, with renewal discussion in May, for additional 12-months from 1 July 2027 (tbc).

Reports to: Kiwi North NZ Governance Group (day-to-day direction from the Chair).

What You’ll Bring

  • Destination, trade or tourism programme management experience, with credibility across RTOs, operators, airlines/airports and national agencies
  • Proven experience in multi-stakeholder coordination in a collective or partnership model environment.
  • Commercial and funding capability: prospectus development, partner negotiation, co-investment and sponsor reporting
  • Trade and product knowledge: itinerary development, wholesaler and IBO channels, famil and trade event delivery experience.
  • Capable of producing reports that are insights focused deliverable outcomes and disciplined reporting
  • Cultural competency and sound judgement on narrative accuracy and sign-off documentation.
  • Self-directed, highly organised, time manager capable of delivering across multiple workstreams and a robust monthly delivery calendar.
